Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I have gotten a chance to blog, so I am eager to get back to my first love . . . food. My schedule has been so crazy busy lately, and I have been in the midst of trying to organize a good time to devote to my blog, so from here on out you can look for new posts every Sunday to jumpstart us into the week. I look forward to chatting with you!
So what are your Valentine’s Day plans? Are you planning to spend a cozy dinner at home or opting to dine out at a favorite restaurant? Right now I am loving Connor’s, so I think we will enjoy a nice steak dinner there. Speaking of steak, they have a fabulous Boursin Filet steak that will knock your socks off! We both tried that for our 20th anniversary dinner recently and it was delicious. It was a filet mignon nicely grilled topped with boursin cheese and tobacco onion rings. . . really a feast for the eyes. And at $26 to $29 (depending on the size of the steak) for a side and salad, not too bad on the wallet. Finish that with a creme brulee for dessert, and I’ll be in the mood for love for sure. 🙂
For a comfy night in, I would opt for Tagliarelle pasta with black truffle butter. Sounds fancy, but so incredibly easy. This recipe comes courtesy of the Barefoot Contessa and is a favorite in our house. All it calls for is Tagliarelle pasta (though I use fresh gluten free pasta), 3 oz of black truffle butter, 8 ounces of half and half, shaved parmesan cheese, and fresh chopped chives. Just boil the noodles, melt the truffle butter and milk together, stir in the noodls, sprinkle with parmesan cheese and chives, and you are set! This would be incredible served alongside Chianti steak and steamed broccoli . . . perfection. I will post the recipe soon.
Until Sunday, have a beautiful Valentine’s Day week. Indulge yourself. You deserve it!
