Happy New Beginnings!!!

I want to wish all of you a happy new year filled with the fulfillment of all your hopes and dreams. I hope you are spending these last 2 days recharging, resetting, and reevaluating how you will step into the new days that are just around the corner. I personally have learned alot about myself this year, and have grown in ways that I couldn’t have even imagined.

So in January, expect fresh ideas from this blog. One thing that I am excited about is a fresh new website that will be coming your way some time in January! Thanks to two dear friends helping me build a website for my business, I will have a one stop place where you can see what’s happening on the business front as well as the blog front. I have a couple of new collaboration ventures in the works that I hope to share soon, so I’m trying to pace myself and make sure my stride is right in line with God’s purposeful timing. So as the clock ticks down to a new year, I hope that you get right in sync with the timing of your own life, and that you start cooking up all those things that have been simmering on the back burner. Let’s clang some pots loud and make some noise in 2013!

So here’s to new beginnings. Happy New Year, and I pray His very best upon your life! Meet me back here as we restructure our eating for the next 365 days. Lord knows I have been a little overindulgent in that department…

This is still the best kept beauty secret. I mix it in with my cocoa butter lotion for the winter and my skin has been amazingly moisturized. I even heard rubbing it in helps to rid cellulite. We’ll have to just see about that…

I’m keeping it in the family today! On Monday I introduced you to coconut water, and today I want to introduce you to the king of coconut products when it comes to unsurpassed health and beauty benefits – coconut oil. The research on coconut oil is outstanding and cannot be contained in one blog alone, so I will try my best to do it justice. To put it simply, coconut oil rules supreme! Not only does this oil aid in boosting your thyroid, immune system, insulin resistance, weight loss, antiviral, antimicrobial, and antifungal properties, but coconut oil is an outstanding anti-aging product. And because of its high lauric acid content, it is great for eczema or rough, dry, patchy skin. My daughter had a few eczema spots that cleared right up when using coconut oil. It truly works from the inside out, and the outside in. Let me share with…

This is STILL the stuff! Lades, if you engage in any “extracurricular activities,” please take this. No more visits to the good doctor. 😉

This was the funniest blog I think I ever wrote because it hit a nerve with so many women. Nobody wants to talk about the “woohoo,” but they sure are interested in keeping it together…Lol!

Ladies only…

I could not talk about yogurt and its probiotic medicinal properties without talking about “her.” You know, the girl downstairs some of you all are ashamed to talk about, or embarrassed to look at (Lol!) Trust me, she is a beautiful part of God’s creation, and I love how the Songs of Solomon in the bible refer to “her” as a garden. So for the sake of remaining tasteful, I will refer to “her” as your “garden.” I am not ashamed of my femininity, love and celebrate my sexuality, and am very candid with my two daughters about all things “garden,” so since this is my blog, I will talk to you as if I were having a conversation with them.

Now the grounds of the “garden” must be maintained, and the ecosystem kept in balance, so cut the grass, trim the bushes, water the flowers…by all means…

This one post generated the most hits one day with 576 views! Who knew fried chicken was dear to so many. Try out the recipe, and you will see why.

The ultimate comfort food, fried chicken.  I sought out to make the best gluten free fried chicken to ever pass my lips, and I am convinced this is it.  Quite frankly, these supersede any fried chicken I have ever tasted, period! To think this was accomplished with no wheat flour defies logic, but it can be done, and this is the delicious, crispy, fried proof! Would you like my recipe? Click the recipe link at top of the home page titled “GF Fried Chicken Wings.” This one is top secret.

Out of all of my blogs, this one has gained the most interest, Bragg’s apple cider vinegar. I know it still reigns number one in my house. Read on and find why. Such a wealth of health in one little bottle!

“It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood…” I do not know why I am thinking of Mr. Roger’s neighborhood today. I adored that show as a kid and would sit front and center at the t.v. each afternoon when it came on. I can hear the sound of that little train making it around the track – choo-choo – and those cute little puppets…although a few of them did look spooky (Lol!) Ok, enough on that.

Those who have followed my blog have heard me quote the Greek philosopher Hippocrates by saying, “Let your food be medicine – and your medicine, food.” I believe in that old adage, and believe it is a tried and true principle to those who have seen the medicinal properties of food work in their lives. Today, I want to share one of my favorites… Bragg’s organic apple cider vinegar. Oh, I could kiss my…

Year of Blogs in Review

20121227-075232.jpg

Hello world! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas filled to the brim with all of God’s goodness. After having our traditional meal on Sunday, we opted to grill steaks on Christmas Day and I must say my husband did a fabulous job. We feasted on buttery ribeye steaks, parmesan roasted potato wedges, garden salad, and cherry yum yum for dessert. So now looking ahead, we plan to have a traditional Thanksgiving where I cook, and Christmas Day where my husband grills. Sounds like a plan and a beautiful gift to me. 🙂

Speaking of gifts, I am typing the blog on my new IPad 4th generation, a gift from my husband (thanks honey!), and my sister presented me with this stoneware cake pan (pictured above) I wanted. I went to her house and she had the most beautiful cake in the oven baked up high in this stoneware, and she was sweet enough to order me one for Christmas (love her!). I can’t wait to bake a pound cake in this baby. I think I will name her “Dottie.” It is no secret, I am affectionate toward my cookware/appliances, and I know them all by name. Some girls like Gucci and Prada, but give me All-Clad and Kitchen-aid!

Well, the year is almost over and I wanted to spend some time revisiting and reblogging our top blogs this year, as determined by you, our readers. I cannot tell you how much fun I had writing, taking pictures, and cooking my way into your lives, and for that I am profoundly thankful. Here’s to a look back at this year, with a nod to great things to come in 2013. So sit tight, and over the next several days, let’s take a stroll down memory lane with a stop at…Bragg’s apple cider vinegar, Coconut oil, Gluten Free fried Chicken, Food is Medicine, and Yogurt – Probiotic feminine health, Pt. 2. Who knew these would put us on the map…Lol!
